Garden Diary – All the B’s, Bees, Butterflies & Blueberry cake
I’m pleased to report even more bees & hoverflies this week, in fact more flying insects of all kinds including butterflies. I’m so happy in my summer garden with buzzing wings all around me. The blueberry bush has cranked up production this week and once it gets going there’s no stopping it! I’ve made two lots of cakes including one evening after work. All a bit tiring but worth it at the weekend when we have it for breakfast. After a really slow start the garden has finally caught up with itself this week with much more colour from the flowers and yummy things to eat around each corner. Happy…

A Red, White & Blue Theme to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles lll
To celebrate the coronation yesterday of our new monarch, King Charles lll, we are having a right, royal red, white and blue theme this Sunday. I do hope you’ve enjoyed watching all the pomp and ceremony, that we here in Britain pride ourselves on doing rather well! And didn’t we do well again! Watching our armed forces on parade always sends a shiver down my spine, but those three cheers were so emotional. I’ll bet the relations of those taking part were extremely proud of them! Catching-Up With The White Garden – Part 2
The White garden is at the very end, where it eventually goes to a point. It is split in two by a central path, dividing the white shrub border on the left and the perennial border on the right. The Holly Border – White Perennials The right border has the holly hedge running down the side of it. This means we had to plant perennials on that side, so that they die back in the winter. Catching-up with the White Garden – Part 1
Five years on from the first flowers being planted. The white garden is now needing a bit of a sort out. As with any new garden, or just new border, some things work out and some things don’t! You need to give plants a few seasons to see if they settle. Some plants need to put their roots down before they start to grow properly. This usually means after a couple of years of underperforming, I have a stern talk to them.
