Garden Diary – Beautiful sunsets & blue skies calling!

You know when you are driving, and the sky from a beautiful sunset is just too gorgeous! Of course you just have to pull over and take a photograph, or two or three! Well that’s what happened to me last Monday evening.

I posted my sunset and someone commented that the sky looked like Mount Fuji, and guess what? It did. This is social media at its best, the sharing of ideas by like minded people.

A very grey, typically November week, was only lifted by my rose bush ‘Mary Rose’ which honestly feels like she’s been flowering all year and is just refusing to accept that it’s now winter and she ought to be having a rest!

As well as the cosmos, and the pots with cyclamen and pansies planted atop of next years tulip bulbs.

But the dismal weather has had me seeking out photos of warmer times. This led on again to the benefits of sharing online as someone recognised a tulip that I’d had and lost. It’s called ‘Blue Diamond’ and I was not only able to place an order for some, but they were in the sale. So that should keep the under gardener happy!

Sadly quite a lot of gardeners are deserting X (formerly Twitter) with all the political goings on. I discovered on Sunday where most of them have fled to, it’s called Bluesky and it promises to be an even friendlier place. I’ve signed up and I’ll let you know!

Cyclamen really are invaluable at this time of year. Mine are doing better than this time last year, when they got saturated then frosted. Not a good combo! 🌿💕🤍💕🤍💕🤍🌿

Someone commented that the spectacular cloud formation I captured on Monday, reminded them of Mount Fuji 🗻 in Japan. I have to admit that they were spot on.
