Garden Diary – Looking back and planning on frosty days

The amazing thing about gardening is not only the joy from the here and now, but all the time spent looking back at what’s worked well this year and planning for next year.

It’s good for occupying the mind especially at stressful times, which I’m experiencing at the moment with a loved one in hospital.

And it’s not just your own garden that’s a useful tool, visiting beautiful gardens regularly is not only a joy at the time but you can spend time thinking about them afterwards. There’s one garden in particular that I use as a virtual place of refuge, Bodnant Gardens in North Wales.

If I’m feeling very stressed, or I can’t get to sleep, I simply imagine myself walking around Bodnant, it works every time! One instance when it was particularly useful was when I had to have a medical procedure done and I’d refused sedative. I felt myself starting to panic, so I gave myself a talking to, then set off for a virtual walk around the beautiful gardens.

Another late post for me today. Life’s not following its usual routine this week, but sometimes that’s what life does & we just have to go along with it… #TuesdayBlue 🌿💙💛💜🌿

I would imagine most of you have already planted your #iris #countyourblessings
