Does anyone know what this little fella is? #wildlifewednesday

Someone spotted what this funny looking insect was. It’s a Narcissus bulb fly. As soon as I read that, I knew it wasn’t going to be good news. Its larvae eat your narcissus and snowdrop bulbs, before changing into the fly, which then burrows out of the soil.

Hopefully something else in the garden thinks they’re a tasty snack!

I remember commenting this time last year that my garden has gone a bit pink! 🩷🌸💕 Maybe a little trip to the garden centre is in order to tide me over until my geums open.
