Garden Diary – It’s time for a Tulip explosion!

Monday 6th April 2026

Tulip ‘Little beauty’ are back for a second year 🌿💕🌷

And the super thing about them, is they’re a species variety so will come back every year, multiplying too 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

Tulip ‘Slawa’ is a new one for me this year. I do love the bi-coloured blooms 🌿🧡🌷🩷🌿

Apparently we’re in for the warmest day of the year today 🌞

The third of my miniature species Tulips came out in yesterday’s sunshine ☀️

She’s called ‘Little Princess’ & like the pink & white ones, she too comes back every year and multiplies 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

All this sunshine has brought out the cherry blossom 🤍🌸🤍

All I can say in anticipation is, yum 😋🍒

My busy, buzzy, flower bee has found more pulmonaria 🐝

I planted this hellebore with pulmonaria around it in a large pot, enjoyed it on the patio last spring, popped it out of sight once it faded & hey presto another spring of enjoyment for me & the bees 🌿🌸🐝💜🐝🌿 #InsectThursday

Yey, 🤗 I finally managed to capture the Small Blue – Cupido minimus 🦋 💙

What a flippy, flappy, energetic little butterfly it is! We have them in the garden every year, but they always allude my lens. Not yesterday🦋🦋🦋 #InsectThursday #butterflies

White flowers were my first love & still draw me 🌿🤍🌿🤍🌿

This ichneumonid wasp, name Ichneumon stramentor – something to get your tongue around! – was under a bag of compost in the greenhouse. I love all the diversity of life in my garden 🦟🐝

The tulips really are the first explosion of colour in the garden. They pay you back for getting cold outside in November whilst planting them 🌿🌷🧡💜💕💛🌷 #sixonsaturday #tulips #bloomscrolling

Spot the intruder down in the white garden?

😁🌿🤍🤍🤍🤍🩷🤍🤍🌿

There’s always some colour trying to muscle its way in!

The naughty fritillary has now been moved to the hosta bed where it’s supposed to be 🤣 #sevenonsunday #whiteflowers #whitegarden

Happy gardening.
